Treatment of Gingival Recession

Dr. Kerry D’Costa is a certified dental specialist in Periodontics. He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He began his dental training at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University and then obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and Master of Science (MSc) degree in Periodontology from the University of Toronto. Dr. D’Costa has extensive surgical experience in periodontal flap surgery, soft tissue and bone grafting, ridge augmentation and implant surgery. Currently, he practices in several dental offices throughout the GTA and he is also an occasional part-time clinical instructor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry.
Gingival recession is a common finding in many patients. Although not all patients may have symptoms, recession can progress rapidly if not addressed. This course covers a practical approach of how to recognize and manage gingival recessive defects. Various therapeautic methods will be discussed as well as methods of preventing recession.
